Direct Support Staff

Positions available working with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Requirements include a valid Georgia Driver’s License, High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid Certifications*, Defensive Driving Certification*, and┬áSafety Care┬ácertification*. Applicants must be able to pass a national background check and drug screen. Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule which might include overnights.

Direct Support Staff (Community Based Services) – Macon (also called Activity Coordinator)

The Arc Macon is looking for motivated, energetic and creative Direct Support Staff who will provide services and coordinate activities to individuals receiving support in their family homes to gain additional skills and competencies. The activity coordinator will develop and maintain a healthy and positive relationship built around open communication. The activity coordinator will encourage, coach and support each individual to develop and enhance individual skills with household maintenance and daily living tasks. The activity coordinator will promote inclusion in the community and actively seek meaningful ways for the participant to contribute. The activity coordinator will monitor, report and document day to day progress on each shift utilizing Therap Electronic documentation system. The activity coordinator will provide transportation in their personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed). The activity coordinator will read, understand and follow the Individualized Support Plan that is generated by the individual and their support team. The activity coordinator will maintain a positive environment within the individual’s home and community.
Position requires a high school diploma or GED, six months experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities, reliable transportation, valid Georgia Driver’s License, & proof of insurance on personal vehicle. All applicants must be able to work evenings and Saturdays. This individual’s home may be pet friendly, so all applicants must be comfortable with domestic pets (cats/dogs).


Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The Arc Macon is seeking compassionate LPNs to provide skilled nursing care to support individuals with disabilities in their home and the community. Care includes monitoring health needs and working closely with the Residential Supervisor, LPN Charge Nurse, and Agency RN regarding pertinent health information and identified health issues. Must be knowledgeable in Tube Feedings.
Position requires that employee maintain a valid Georgia LPN License and Georgia Driver’s License.
We have part-time and full-time positions open. Our full-time shifts are 12 hours (7a-7p and 7p-7a) and our part-time shifts are 4 hours (5p-9p).
